Truancy Module
The truancy module is a simple yet powerful reporting function for the school administrators. In conjunction with the MyIPGroup specifically coded smart card the authorised administrators can quickly and easily verify that the pupil is in class, as easily as clicking a button on a standard PC with connection to the Internet. The module also contains information about all pupils, form class, DOB, Contact details, historical attendance and comments. This module can also integrate with MUSAC and also a cell phone txt system. The demonstration following shows ALL fields in the database. In most cases only some of the data would be presented, ID Card number, Name, Form, Contact details and "which class pupil is currently in" When the page opens you are the "Administrator", you can view all the details, add pupils and also manually check a student in and out. In a working system the pupil would pass their school ID card in front of a reader when entering the class, the reader would automatically update the pupil's record for attendance and which class the are currently in. On leaving the class the records would be again automatically updated showing they were no longer present. With a full working system a parent could, using a secure login and password, access their child's records which would be present in real time on the Internet They could read the pupil's reports, leave a message for a teacher and check on their attendance. Once school has started for the morning the school administrator only needs to click on a report function which will show the names of all pupils who have not checked in that morning. This then would bring up the database and show each of the non-attending pupil's records, with contact details and the ability to send either a txt or an email to the parent/caregiver. Because the card can also store "reward points" the system can be setup so that after a certain amount of points are earned through consistent attendance, these points can be converted to rewards such as food from the canteen, music tokens or something similar. Positive actions reap positive rewards. As the Administrator you can view, add, delete, edit and copy information. The menu is found on the right side of the screen. A comprehensive search function is included. For example searching for Japanese will bring up Jess Hodges who takes this course. You can also click the blue toolbar at the top to sort entries, for example clicking on the "At school" column will sort the pupils into 'yes' and 'no'. To manually check in/out a pupil click on the edit button and scroll to "At school". click on yes or no and then edit. The system is updated in real time. |
click here to view the database. Please remember ALL fields are shown, this would not be the case in a working system where the fields would be tailored to the school's requirements |
Add as many pupils as you wish, if you delete a student please add another though deleting is not reommended. |
